{Wedding Wednesday} Tiffany-Inspired Bridal Shower Invitation

It's June, which means we are officially in full-fledged wedding season.
For those of you who are married (or are getting married in the near future), you know that it's not just the wedding that requires research, planning, and preparation. There's also the engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and day-after brunch to be thought about!

It's our goal here at 2 Hearts B 1 Designs to be a source of inspiration, ideas, and tips to help you with whatever wedding soirĂ©e you're hosting!

So today we're featuring one of our favorite bridal shower invitations to date...inspired by one of our favorite jewelry designers to date...can you guess? :)

Tiffany, of course! :)

Another reason we love this invitation (besides the fact that it reminds us of a sparkly little gift), is because the Tiffany-blue enclosure is perfect for this time of year. The fresh hue is reminiscent of summer...sparkling pools, the sound of the ocean, a refreshing cocktail.

The square enclosure is wrapped with a white satin ribbon, and finished off with a paper engagement ring. This lovely little ring has a "band" of shimmer silver card stock, and a "diamond" of textured glitter paper...fabulous!

This is one of those invitations that can be customized to your unique style, theme, or time of year.
This particular client was having her bridal shower smack dab in the middle of summer (July), and wanted to keep with bright, summer colors.

We designed a floral motif incorporating pinks, chartreuse green, and bright blue to complement the pool blue card stock.

Showcasing the bride-to-be's name in pink really makes it pop, along with small details embellished with touches of glitter, and a rhinestone on the "t" of her last name.
Our client chose chocolate brown as another accent color, so we used it for the vine and leaf of the floral motif, and also as the matting beneath the white card stock.

If you wanted to keep with a more traditional/classic Tiffany theme, you could leave out the floral motif and stick to using black and white as your accent colors, like we did with this one.

We have another Tiffany-inspired invitation to show you that we did for a sweet little girl's birthday party, so make sure to stop by next week!

{Calligraphy Monday} Let Love Grow

Happy Monday!

For those brides-to-be out there looking for a unique favor idea for your summer wedding, we have just the thing for you.

Why not let guests take home a small potted plant or flower as a memento from your special day?

{via}

Instead of an edible favor, or something that will be stashed away in a drawer and forgotten about, a plant is a lovely way to send your guests home with a gift that will last (if watered, of course ;)

 {via}

Many times people don't buy fresh plants or flowers for themselves, so a plant is a unique and thoughtful favor that will remind them of the fun they had at your wedding. Each time they see it on their counter top or kitchen table, they'll think of you.

{via}

Plus, the adorable symbolism of a plant can't be denied!
Who wouldn't want to "Help Love Grow"?

We created this sign written in calligraphy for a couple who decided to give this very favor.

How sweet would this be framed on your favor table, with all the plants or flowers beautifully displayed around it?

This can be done on paper, or on chalkboard, like this idea:

{via}

This could easily be modified into a custom tag as well, if you wanted to adorn each plant with a tag, similar to this idea:

If you don't want to do an actual plant, seeds also make a sweet favor idea, with the same fun idea of "making love grow" behind it:

These cute little muslin treat bags can be customized for whatever special occasion you have!

{Frosting Friday} Alice in Wonderland Party Details

Happy Friday 2 Hearts readers!

We are so excited to show you some adorable invitations and party details we created recently for a sweet 7 year old's birthday party!

Bridgette Cameron contacted us to help her with party details for the Alice in Wonderland-themed party she was throwing for her sweet daughter, Reese.

She wanted signs for the tables, tags for the tea cups and treats, and of course, cupcake toppers!
The color palette was bright primaries mixed with some graphic black and white elements.
Take a look at what we came up with!

This photo is from the party, and look how cute everything looks on the table!

The party design began with the invitation.
We created a 5x7 invitation that looked like a playing card to display all the party details.
The invite was matted with a black shimmer card stock and tucked into a red envelope.

Each guest's name adorned the front of the envelope in whimsical Alice in Wonderland fashion :)

The white envelope liner helped the the details of the "un-birthday" invitation to pop :)

Each table sign we created played with the images and colors of the party and displayed a fun quote from the book~together, they create a cohesive, whimsical display!

Sweet coordinating "Eat Me" and "Drink Me" tags embellished tea cups and treats.

And what party would be complete without custom cupcake toppers? :)

We had so much fun designing these custom elements for Bridgette and Reese!
We hope the guests enjoyed the fun details as much as we enjoyed creating them!
Thank you Bridgette for the pleasure of being part of your daughter's special day :)

{Gift Idea} I Love You More Than...

Although Mother's Day is behind us, we couldn't resist sharing this adorable idea! It could easily be modified for Father's Day, so we thought it we'd share it since Father's Day is only a little over a week away!

These custom cards were created that read, "I love you more than ____ loves ____."

Each of my brothers (I have three) wrote out several different ways on how much they love my mom.

For example:

"I love you more than macaroni loves cheese"

"I love you more than cupcakes love sprinkles"

"I love you more than milk loves cookies"
(I see a food theme here.... :)

And my personal favorite:

"I love you more than Jill loves coffee"
So true...and I love my coffee! ;)

How sweet would this be to do for Father's Day? You could display them like we did here or put them in a special jar or different places around the house for that special Dad to find.

We could customize the colors to blues, greens, or your dad's favorite color!
Let us know if you'd like these simple & sweet cards
to help you let your dad know how much he means to you.

We'll have more Father's Day ideas coming next week, so stay tuned!

have a great day! :)

{Calligraphy Monday} Beach Wedding Place Cards

Happy Monday!

With Memorial Day weekend behind us, it's now the "unofficial" start of summer!

What better way to start off the summer season than with a little beach wedding inspiration, in the form of a place card...

This kraft paper place card is the perfect addition to a beach wedding, a beachy-themed bridal shower, or any summer soiree for that matter!

The shell design in watermark ink gives a subtle nod to the ocean, while the white calligraphy is the perfect way to display your guests' names.
Kraft paper and white ink...it's fresh yet elegant!

And these coordinating table numbers would be the perfect addition to a seaside celebration.
How pretty would these be on a table like this one, with a soft color palette and lovely table elements like jute wrapped votives.

{via}

I can feel the ocean breeze now...

We'll have more beach wedding and summer gathering inspiration for you on the blog in the coming weeks, so make sure to check back often!

{Event} High Tea Bridal Shower

Happy Saturday, 2 Hearts readers!

Today we are excited to show you a bridal shower invitation for a very dear friend of mine, Tami.
Tami and I have been friends since college days at Fresno State University. I received the great honor and joy to be her matron of honor and stand beside on her wedding day, and beforehand throw her one heck of a shower!

Tami and her husband, Matt, got married in the vivacious city of Las Vegas at the Luxor Chapel.
Tami has been a lover of tea and antique tea cups for as long as I have known her.
So it only seemed fitting that I create a high tea style bridal shower.

The Four Seasons Hotel seemed to be the perfect venue of class and posh for my girl.

It was a marvelous afternoon, filled with friends, laughter, and delicious treats!

Here's a look at the invitation and some pictures from the afternoon...

As with any invitation, the style sets the tone for the event.
We decided to go with a color palette of grays and yellows for an elegant and modern feel and keeping it cohesive to the wedding event following.

The invite had three parts to it:

~The invitation (matted in a shimmer gray card stock)~
~A spa day rsvp card (matted in scalloped yellow card stock)~
~A "tea bag" (small glassine envelope) displaying the bride's registry information on a small card and an actual tea bag tucked behind it~

We embellished each piece with three dimensional yellow roses for an effect that was fresh and sweet.

How sweet is this "tea bag"? To make the tea bag string, we used a piece of yellow striped twine, then adhered a paper daisy punch out, and finished it with a yellow rose.

Tami is also a huge fan of Vera Bradley. So, to wrap up the invitation, we found these random adorable coordinating fabric pieces, and tied the whole bundle of cards up, securing them with a small knot to give it that Vera Bradley-inspired touch!

The whole bundle was tucked into yellow and gray coordinating boxes...

Then wrapped with a sash of coordinating paper, sealed with custom handwritten labels, and sent in the mail!

These invitations provide a perfect example of how you can easily and stylishly mix prints and patterns that aren't exactly matching, but coordinate beautifully because of the shared color palette.
Who wouldn't be excited to receive this invitation?

Now it's time for tea!

The Four Seasons pulled out all the stops when it came to serving high tea.
Here's a selection of the yummy treats served:

2 Hearts B 1 Designs also provided several of the table decor elements, such as this cupcake server, which I decorated in coordinating yellow and gray embellishments.

The ladies deciding what to have next! :) Decisions... Decisions....

The scones, sandwiches, and pastries were delectable!

For the favor on each place setting, each lady received a little muslin goodie bag (adorned with the couple's monogram) of tea and handsoap. The goodie bag is tied to a hand towel, then topped off with an adorable tin teapot-shaped name tag. Each name was written in calligraphy, then attached with yellow silk ribbon.

I was so excited when I found these beautiful initial mugs!
We bought five mugs to spell out "bride," then filled them with yellow roses and babies' breath.
The bride got to take them home with her after the shower! They made great centerpieces on our long stretched out table.

The bride blissfully happy, opening her gifts.

All of the guests dressed in high tea fashion, even the queen herself would be proud!

Thank you dear friend for the honor and privilege of hosting your bridal shower!
It's an honor to stand beside you through it all!
