{Frosting Friday} A Sweet Surprise Birthday!

Happy Friday 2 Hearts readers!

It's Kylie here, and today we have another sweet invitation to end the week (and the month of all things love and sweets) with this "Sweet Surprise Birthday" invitation we did a few years ago for a guy very close to my heart…my husband Kyle! :)

I knew I wanted to do a sweets theme for his birthday, with a red and aqua color palette, so Jillian designed this amazingly creative invitation to set the tone for the surprise party!

I was going to serve coffee and dessert for a few close friends, so the invitation reflected the details, along with a note to be "prompt" since the birthday boy would be arriving shortly after the guests arrived!

One of my favorite details of this invitation was the coordinating shimmer red envelope, lined with a colorful gumdrop liner!

This invitation reflected my vision for the party perfectly--I just fell in love with them when I saw the finished result! :)

Here are a few more photos from the party as well:

The dessert table

I made the birthday banner myself by downloading this free birthday banner printable by Anders Ruff, mounting it on card stock and stringing it up with red ribbon.

My husband's favorite cake is Susie Cakes' Celebration Cake ;)

Cupcakes were from The Cupcakery in Thousand Oaks, and I created the coordinating dessert table signage.

No dessert table is complete without a variety of sweets!

I adhered these "YUM" printable tags to lollipops for some extra fun ;)

More cupcakes! :)

We had a few bowls of popcorn spread out around the room to balance out all the sweet!

Jillian created these adorable coordinating labels for the treat bags~each guest got to fill a goodie bag with treats for the road!

This was such a fun birthday theme! Everyone enjoyed getting to pick and choose their treats, so it's important to have a variety of sweets that appeal to everyone. Every time I look back at pictures of this party I smile :) And I can't say enough about how much I loved these invitations! They truly set the tone for the birthday and the afternoon.

And on a personal note, today is my husband's actual birthday, so sending out special birthday wishes to him today! Thank you for being the best husband ever! :) xoxo

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

{Calligraphy Monday} M&M Bat Mitzvah Details

Happy Monday everyone!

We hope you had a splendid weekend, and are refreshed for a new week ahead! In case you're needing a little boost this morning, we've got a little sugar rush for you, in the way of an M&M themed bat mitzvah! :)

We decided to play off the sweet 13 year old's initials, and create a theme that is fun, modern, and girly all at the same time.

Envelopes got the glitter treatment with a hot pink glitter liner

The opposite side of the invitation also got a dose of sparkle on the "m"

The finishing touch…sweet as can be!

We also had fun with the party details for the bat mitzvah, like these place cards:
We used a glittery pink flower motif on matte white card stock, then Jillian wrote each guest's name in hot pink…fab!

The table numbers also brought a touch of sparkle to each table:

Hot pink numbers were printed on white card stock, then embellished with a glittery flower as well.

What 13 year old girl wouldn't love this glittery & sweet pink party theme?
Thank you to Nicole and Michelle for letting us be a part of your special day! :)

{Frosting Friday} Have a Sweet Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We thought today would be the perfect day to share some photos from Sweet E's new shop, and show you the Valentine's Day signage we had the pleasure of creating for their sweet displays!

Isn't their display window adorable?

"Falling in love" with the sweets on display!

Cake pops: the dessert table staple, in festive pinks and reds!

And what Valentine's Day is complete without some lovely and delicious pink macaroons?

Ahh, and one of our favorite ways to spread some sweetness…with a sweet little treat! These individual s'mores packages are the perfect little treat to leave on someone's desk, tuck in someone's lunch, or give to your girlfriends to show them "s'more love"!

Sweet E's has so many delicious treats available, be sure to stop by for a last-minute Valentine's Day gift or visit their site to place an order!

And lastly, we want to wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you're spending an evening with the girls, family, or your loved one, we hope you remember how much you're loved! Take some time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, and have a wonderfully sweet weekend :)

XOXO

{Wedding Details} Coral & Gray Table Numbers

Looking for a fresh way to bring in some color to your parties (or weddings) this winter?

How about mixing gray with a bright springy color like coral?

These table numbers were done for a wedding last year (see the coordinating save the dates and our inspiration board here), and we love how the coral pops against the soft gray. The effect is elegant and romantic with a fresh, modern spin.

You can pair other springy colors like soft yellows, pinks, and lilacs with gray to brighten up your party decor and bring in a dose of spring!

And how gorgeous would a coral and gray Valentine's Day soiree be? We love this inspiration board by Southern Afternoon:

What colors do you like mixing with gray? Let us know in the comments below!
And have fun mixing your brights with this lovely neutral for a sophisticated and chic party palette!

{Calligraphy Monday} 52 Reasons

Hi there!

You may remember the the post we did last week for an adorable Valentine's Day (or birthday) gift idea, called "10 Reasons Why I Love You." Well, today we're bringing you 52 Reasons. The same sweet client ordered this project (isn't she creative?) for her husband's 52nd birthday, and we love the result!

(You'll have to excuse the photo quality; unfortunately this was the only picture we were able to snap of the project!)

Here it is in a little better lighting (pre-frame):

This photo was taken before our client framed it, and it was created to look like a wrapped present.

Just another way you can show your loved one (whether it's a husband, daughter, son, sister, brother, or friend) how much you love them! You can do this for a milestone birthday, Valentine's Day, or even just-because :)

Have a great Monday!
