{Frosting Friday} Have a Sweet Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We thought today would be the perfect day to share some photos from Sweet E's new shop, and show you the Valentine's Day signage we had the pleasure of creating for their sweet displays!

Isn't their display window adorable?

"Falling in love" with the sweets on display!

Cake pops: the dessert table staple, in festive pinks and reds!

And what Valentine's Day is complete without some lovely and delicious pink macaroons?

Ahh, and one of our favorite ways to spread some sweetness…with a sweet little treat! These individual s'mores packages are the perfect little treat to leave on someone's desk, tuck in someone's lunch, or give to your girlfriends to show them "s'more love"!

Sweet E's has so many delicious treats available, be sure to stop by for a last-minute Valentine's Day gift or visit their site to place an order!

And lastly, we want to wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you're spending an evening with the girls, family, or your loved one, we hope you remember how much you're loved! Take some time to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, and have a wonderfully sweet weekend :)

{Wedding Details} Coral & Gray Table Numbers

Looking for a fresh way to bring in some color to your parties (or weddings) this winter?

How about mixing gray with a bright springy color like coral?

These table numbers were done for a wedding last year (see the coordinating save the dates and our inspiration board here), and we love how the coral pops against the soft gray. The effect is elegant and romantic with a fresh, modern spin.

You can pair other springy colors like soft yellows, pinks, and lilacs with gray to brighten up your party decor and bring in a dose of spring!

And how gorgeous would a coral and gray Valentine's Day soiree be? We love this inspiration board by Southern Afternoon:

What colors do you like mixing with gray? Let us know in the comments below!
And have fun mixing your brights with this lovely neutral for a sophisticated and chic party palette!

{Calligraphy Monday} 10 Reasons Why I Love You

Happy Monday and...

{Via}

Is anyone else as excited as we are that it's February??
It's the month of love, the month of several birthdays in our family, and the month of all things pink and hearts! {We are 2 Hearts B 1 Designs, after all ;) }

If the month of love and Valentines makes you feel a little anxious, don't worry, we're here to help!
Check back here, on Facebook, and on Instagram for lots of love-ly ideas this month! :)
February is the month to celebrate everyone you love…husbands, girlfriends, moms, dads, best friends,  boyfriends, sons, daughters…you name it!

So to kick us off, we're sharing this calligraphy project we did for a client last year.

Sorry the picture is a bit blurry, we had to snap the pic with a phone before delivery since we forgot to take it beforehand!

The "10 Reasons" were written in a beautiful pink ink and framed in a sparkly frame for Mia's 10th birthday. What a sweet sentiment! This would be absolutely perfect for any loved one on Valentine's Day….who wouldn't feel special receiving something like this? It's a wonderfully thoughtful gift that won't break the bank and will make your loved one feel just that…incredibly loved!

We hope this helps get your creative juices flowing for a special gift for Valentine's Day…and as we mentioned, come back often for more sweet ideas!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Pink & Gold

Even though Valentine's Day was last week, we are still relishing in this season that celebrates love (can you blame us?) We can't resist everything pink, romantic, and heart shaped. And maybe we're still running on sugar from all those candy hearts we ate...maybe  :)

We also wanted to share this lovely custom Valentine project we created for one of our clients, featuring a color palette that is turning up everywhere right now: pink & gold.

Take a look!

Our client picked out the paper elements she wanted us to use, such as the shimmer gold card stock, gold and white velum paper, and pink heart die cuts.

She loved this hot pink sheer ribbon and wanted us to incorporate this along with the adorable sparkly heart stickers.

Jillian wrote each person's name in gold ink for the perfect gilded touch.

The effect was a perfectly polished, perfectly gilded pink and gold Valentine.

We are personally loving this pink and gold combination. You're seeing it everywhere, from fashion to weddings to baby showers.

Love these goodie bags!

Lovin' these Louboutins!

And who could resist these gilded macaroons?

How would you incorporate pink and gold into your next celebration?

Salty & Sweet

How adorable is this framed chalkboard sign we did for a client's dessert table? Made us think about how...

Food reflects the man.
Did you know that
George Washington had a thing for Madeira wine, cherries and hazelnuts.
Abraham Lincoln liked apples and coffee.
Obama enjoys trail mix and Fran's Chocolates of Seattle.
Presidents who knew how to mix their salty with their sweet.
Men who have won our hearts!
Hope your day is filled with all the sweet and salty things you love!

Happy President's Day!

God Bless America!

Valentines & Vows

This post speaks directly to our married readers ;)

{But if you're not married, you can certainly take some inspiration from this post too!}

Want to wow your sweetie this Valentine's Day with a gift that's
heartfelt, thoughtful, & timelessly beautiful?

Then take a cue from this sweet couple we had the honor of working with.

For a first year anniversary, the traditional gift to give is paper.
John came to us on a mission to write out their wedding vows as a gift to have framed & adorn to forever remember those precious words that were spoken on that heavenly day!

Jillian wrote out their vows in calligraphy using a midnight black ink, on Crane's Lettra card stock.

What a sweet way to show your husband or wife how dear they are to your heart!
This will preserve and display those vows in a beautiful way.

Frame these and display them in your bedroom or wherever you'd like a lovely reminder of
the love you've chosen together.
So, husbands out there take note...wink, wink!

Happy Valentine's Day!

xoxo

Love Letters

This week we have all things romantic, heart-shaped, frosting-topped, handmade, chocolate-dipped, and XO-embellished on our minds. And if you know us well, we think everything looks better adorned with a handwritten note. In this day and age of email, Facebook, and twitter, your handwriting hand is probably a bit rusty, but think of how special your Valentine will feel when they see you've carefully penned their name on a tag, note, or letter just for them.

{photo by Duke Photography}

So whether you're penning a love letter with a feather quill pen dipped in an inkwell, or sending the sweet version {like these gorgeous cookies from Sweetapolita}, take the time this week to let those you love just how special they are to you.

And if you need some extra Valentine's Day inspiration, check out our Pinterest board for more sweet delights for the eyes!

Love Is In The Air

I know Valentine's Day has come and gone, but I want to reflect a little on love. It may sound cheesy, but I love, LOVE. Many people say, "Oh, Valentine's is a Hallmark Holiday", "It's too commercial", or even "I hate Valentine's Day". Well , to that I say pish-posh. How could celebrating love, whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial be, "commercial"? How can anyone hate LOVE???

If you can't buy your lady love a big rock for her ring finger, or your man a sports car a'la Mariah and Nick there are still thousands of inexpensive and heartfelt ways to show your love to mom, boyfriend, teacher, dog-sitter... I think you get the picture.

This year I went with cookies, candy, and home made cards for all my friends, family and clients. And for the hubs I had a quiet romantic picnic. Simple enough, huh?? I let what I love inspire me - and you can do the same. I find that red, white, pink and chocolate are a fun palette to create with. They are traditional with a modern little kick. Like neapolitan ice cream with a juicy cherry on top. As yummy for the eyes as it is for the belly.

Let it be known that Valentine's Day is not the only time of the year you can express your love, lost, or general infatuation. Here at 2 Hearts B1 I have no problem finding love year round.

Quick example. My husband Tim is a sports nut. If you say UCLA, or Lakers or Dodgers he is hooked. So, when he wants to have the boys over for a night of TV, beer and pizza I say, "have at it". But, I ensure you that they don't just sit around and watch the game. No, I don't think so, I put them to work. Lose the beer boys and grab the glue stick. As long as your mouth is wide open cheering for Kobe you might as well stick out that tongue and lick some stamps.

You may be saying to yourselves - how is this about love?? Well, I'll tell you. He gets to be with the friends he loves, watching a game he loves while helping the woman he loves, and I get to look at his smiling face and his handsome self sitting on my floor putting together invitations for a company that I have started with all my heart and know how much I am loved.

LOVE!!! Free, simple, everywhere - not commercial at all.
