{Wedding Wednesday} An Elegant, but Playful Wedding

We have a very special treat to share with you this Wedding Wednesday! These simply beautiful designs by Jillian for a fall wedding in Malibu.

The envelope was classic, in pearlized paper and elegant calligraphy...
Lovely Invitation

... and was perfectly paired with this playful, yet absolutely stunning invitation.
Those silk flowers. Love!
The black and white theme with the floral motif was just the right blend of feminine and masculine.

The rest of the invitation suite was just as chic.
The pearl details on this RSVP card so beautifully tie into the pearlized outer envelope, and are just the perfect touch!

Wedding details card. So pretty!
I love the refined details of the classic invitation juxtaposed with subtle and modern twists.

Congratulations Tiffany and Richard! We wish you all the very best of wedded bliss!

{Wedding Wednesday} Black and Gold Gatsby-Inspired Wedding Invitations

There is something so classic about black and gold…it's chic and dramatic, and definitely making a resurgence. This couple wanted a Gatsby-inspired feel to their wedding invitations; something with a glamorous, vintage vibe that echoed the couple's style and the wedding's location.

We created something that channeled the Gatsby era but also feels fresh and modern. The gold glitter envelope liners give that extra touch of glam, and Jillian finished these envelopes with coordinating gold calligraphy, which you can see here.
Fabulous photos courtesy of Brian Leahy Photography and his fabulous skills at Hilary and Sam's Wedding Day

Love the simplicity and detail that went into the cocktail napkins to be cohesive with our elegant design.
Says so little but means so much!

The venue of Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, California was absolutely stunning. It made the perfect back drop to make this wedding come to life. Glittering table scape, tall centerpieces of beautiful blush and white florals. It was a setting set for pure romance.
This cake is gorgeous enough to eat not just a slice, but the whole dang thing! Love, love love!
The elegance carried through with the fabulous beautiful bridal bouquet
that any bride would love to have!
Congrats Hilary and Sam! We are so happy for you both! May you always be as happy as you are in this very moment!

Seal it all with a fabulous kiss!
xoxo

{Wedding Wednesday} Beautiful Orange & Navy Wedding Invitations

Hi there!

Today we're showcasing some gorgeous wedding invitations we did for a wonderful client a few months ago. Sofia and (her now husband) Dmitry got married in Miami earlier this year, then decided to do another wedding celebration in September with family in Spain! What a marvelous idea! :)

We did a shimmer card stock enclosure, then matted the actual invitation with navy card stock. The orange printed border gave it a nice pop of color without being too bold, and the gorgeous orange satin ribbon finished it off with a look of luxe elegance. It's fresh and sophisticated at the same time. Who wouldn't be excited to receive one of these invitations?

We were thrilled to be a part of Sofia and Dmitry's wedding celebration--thank you for the opportunity to share in this special time in your lives!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

{Calligraphy Monday} Calligraphy Mixed with Art

It's the last Monday of August lovelies!

Can you believe it? Next Monday we will officially be in the fall season! I am so excited :) You know we love us some fall around here! But we do want to savor this last bit of summer, so we plan to do that this week!

First up, we're sharing a special wedding card we created for a client.
Our client was actually attending a wedding, and wanted to give a card along with their gift that would be a keepsake for the couple to treasure.
One of the client's family members actually painted this beautiful scene.
She painted it on card stock so that it could be matted on a 5x7 card.

In step 2 Hearts B 1 Designs :)
We created a folded card and adhered the painting to the front; then Jillian wrote the sentiment in calligraphy on the inside.
She finished it by writing the couple's name on the envelope in coordinating green ink.

A perfectly thoughtful and sweet card for a summer wedding, don't you think?

This is just one example of how we can help put the small, finishing touches on your projects to give them that extra pop!
We love this idea and feel so honored to have helped with these special details!

Make sure to enjoy this last summer Monday and we'll see you again on the blog this week!
Don't forget you can also find us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!

XOXO

{Things We Heart} Cynla's Beautiful Notepads & A Giveaway!

Good morning 2 Hearts readers!

Do we have some exciting news for you today!
If you remember, several weeks ago we attended the incredible National Stationery Show in NYC (a whole weekend filled with stationery…swoon!)

One of the fabulous stationery designers we met that weekend was Cindy LaColla, who is the owner and creator of Cynla! She is the talented artist behind these beautiful notepads:

We talked about how much we loved her notepads here, and then sweet Cindy contacted us with a special giveaway offer for our readers!

Isn't that awesome?

We've gotten to know Cindy better through email correspondence, and feel like we have a kindred spirit in the stationery world! :) We just love her sweet personality and generous heart, and we know you will love her too. You must check out her gorgeous line of products and stationery in her Etsy store here.

Some of our favorite cards from her shop are the Mixer Birthday card, the Crockpot Birthday card, and the Brunch card, to name a few (all perfect for the foodies in your life!). You could easily spend an hour browsing over her beautiful artwork and the creative detail that goes into each and every card…so make sure you visit her Etsy shop and favorite it so you can stay up to date with all of her latest creations!

Ready to meet the lovely lady behind Cynla? Here's a little bit about Cindy, in her own words:

"Drawing has become a way for me to de-stress. I've found that it is the best medicine. I created Cynla to focus more on what matters in my life and send a “stress less” message into every piece of artwork I create. I incorporate a lot of the nature and world around me, and my art has become a visual diary of my life.

I want to be better at keeping in touch with friends, make amazing memories with my favorite people and experience everything – and then make art that celebrates all of this. I want to live a happy, stress-free, inspired life. I try to create things that inspire others to do the same.

I’m doing what I love and am so excited that people send my cards and art around the world. I’m proud to have a business that encourages people to communicate, connect with their family and friends, take time to write messages and put cards and letters in mailboxes.

I'm so excited to be a part of this giveaway and being featured on 2 Hearts B1 Designs! The gorgeous details that 2 Hearts B1 designs offers are what makes a wedding come together and makes it a day to remember. A big thank you to Jillian and Kylie for including me on their inspiring blog!"

{Calligraphy Monday} Yellow & Blue Mr. & Mrs. Chair Signs

Happy Monday 2 Hearts readers!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend, and got to enjoy a bit of sunshine :) Today is cloudy and cooler, so we are dreaming of all things spring and sun this morning!

Which reminded us of wedding details we did for Angela and Eugene a few years ago. We loved their yellow and blue color scheme, and enjoyed creating details around their theme. These beautiful photos are courtesy of the bride and groom, and were taken by Dennis Kwan Wedding Photography.

Jillian wrote "Mr. Izumo" and "Mrs. Izumo" in calligraphy on each sign, to coordinate with their theme.

Love the blue ribbon!

And here are the programs we designed for them as well:

Don't these details just remind you of sun, warmth, and summer? We love helping couples create their details, working with their color scheme, the setting, and their personalities. Putting their vision onto paper gives us such joy!

Thank you to Angela and Eugene for the privilege of being a part of your special day, and
to Dennis Kwan Wedding Photography for capturing the details in such a beautiful way!

Hope these details give you a little inspiration today, and remind you that sun, warmth, and summer are just around the corner! :)

Have a wonderful Monday!

Happy Spring! + Flower Box Place Card Display

It's official…spring has sprung! :)

Yesterday was the first day of spring, so we thought we'd celebrate with one of our favorite spring wedding ideas: a flower box seating chart!

You may recognize these photos from Unveiled a few years ago. The gorgeous shots were captured by the amazing Laura of Beautiful Day Photography.

We used a flower box and filled it with a mix of real flowers, then used paper daisies as "place cards." Jillian wrote each guest's name on the center of the daisy in calligraphy.

The flower box had a ribbon wrapped around it and a custom tag noting the table number.
The blooms were placed in between the real flowers, so guests can come "pick" their place card and find their seat at the corresponding table!

We just love this idea for a spring wedding.
It fits perfectly with the theme of "letting love bloom"! :)

What are some of your favorite spring wedding ideas?

{Design} Beautiful Cream & Gold Letterpress Wedding Invitation

Hi there!

If you visited here on Monday, you saw this post with the sneak peak at these invitations.
Well, without further ado, let's take a look at the full invitation in all of it's letterpress glory! :)

Ahhhh…isn't it positively lovely?
We can't get enough of the gilded edges, letterpress printing, and names written in calligraphy…by our own Jillian Yee-Pham! :) Simply gorgeous.

And here's a look at the rsvp postcard as well…

The back:

And the front:

So, so pretty!

The invitation and rsvp card were tied together with twine and this pretty tag for a look that's slightly rustic, slightly vintage-feeling, and completely elegant!

Thank you Dara and Brian for the privilege of being part of your special day! Your invitations are truly beautiful.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

{Calligraphy Monday} Monogram Tag

Happy Monday, and happy first week of March!

Today we're giving you a sneak peek at one element of a wedding invitation suite we did last year for adorable couple Dara & Brian. Jillian created a calligraphy monogram for the couple, and they used this motif in several elements of their wedding details.

This tag, printed on kraft paper, is the finishing touch to the invitation suite (more photos to come on Wednesday!):

So many possibilities with a beautiful monogram like this!
Be sure to stop by Wednesday for more photos of the full invitation~it's one of our favorites!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend, and here's to a great week :)

{Design} Swirl Wedding Invitations

Hi there!

We wanted to share these lovely black, white, and silver swirl wedding invitations with you today (we love us some swirls!) that were created for a sweet couple last year. The elegant and classic design would be perfect for weddings anytime of year, but we especially love them this month because swirls and flourishes invoke a certain romance that you can't deny!

And look how gorgeous they look against pinks and reds! If you happen to have pinks or reds as your wedding colors, these invitations would really pop (in an elegant, isn't-she-chic kind of way ;)

The classic white invitation is matted on a black card stock embellished with a slightly marbled, silvery-white flourish design. The shimmer silver paper sash is sealed with the couple's monogram, and embellished with lovely swooping flourishes that play off each other.

We just love these invitations!

If you need insight on creating the perfect wedding invitation to fit your vision, let us know! We're here to help :)

See you back on the blog tomorrow!

XOXO

{Wedding Details} Gray Lace Wedding Invitations

Hi there!

We're so excited to share these beautiful lace invitations with you today! We created these invitations for a bride awhile ago, and have been meaning to share. We've gotten several requests lately for invitations incorporating lace, so we thought we'd showcase the lace invitations we've done to help those brides looking for inspiration.

One of our favorite things about these invitations is the color--the gray lace is unique, understated yet so elegant, and very romantic. The lace is wrapped around a matte gray enclosure, and tied with gray satin ribbon. This monochromatic scheme works because you've got different shades, textures, and shine.

Each component of this invitation was printed using the letterpress method. It's a little difficult to see in the picture, but there is a floral motif imprinted in the background, and then the couple's information is printed in a coordinating soft gray ink.

The couple had individual cards for ceremony directions, reception directions, and accommodations.

The rsvp cards included options for each guest to choose their entrée

The rsvp envelope was solid gray, and we printed the bride's information using a floral motif to mirror the motif of the invitation.

This photo shows another option for wrapping the invitation, without the solid gray enclosure. If a bride wanted to save a little on costs, she could simply use the lace as the enclosure (and forgo the solid paper). The invitation and accompanying cards are all wrapped in the lace and then secured with the satin ribbon. It just gives it a slightly different, but still beautiful, look.

Many times we have brides ask us how they can save a little on the cost of their invitations, yet still achieve their vision. While lace is not inexpensive, a bride could save a little on these by forgoing the card stock enclosure (as mentioned above), and also by using flat printing rather than letterpress. Letterpress printing is the most expensive form of printing, because the text is actually pressed into the paper, and each individual invitation is run through the printing press by hand. It is a very time-consuming process, with a beautiful result, and of course a higher price. So a great way to save a little money yet still achieve this look would be to use flat printing.

We of course love the look and feel of letterpress printing, as do many brides, so if it's in your budget, that's wonderful! However we want to encourage those who want to achieve a similar look with a little lower price tag that it can be done! :)

We plan to post more of our lace invitations in the near future, so hopefully this will provide some inspiration for you! Let us know if there's anything else in particular you'd like to see, or if you have more invitation-related questions…we're happy to help!

Thanks for stopping by!
