{Invitation} Simple & Sophisticated Bridal Shower

Hi there!

Today we're featuring a bridal invitation that is pretty, simple, and sophisticated…all of our favorite things! Take a look!

A shimmer silver enclosure is fastened with a sparkly silver sash. To secure the sash, a pretty paper flower detail topped with a sparkly embellishment completes the enclosure and wraps up the invitation beautifully!

The inside of the invitation features a pretty pink ombre paper matted with a mint card stock. The beautiful fonts lend elegance and the small rhinestone embellishment gives it that hint of sparkle. 

Bridal shower perfection! :)

{Calligraphy Monday} West Elm Recap & Gold Calligraphy

Hi there!

Can you believe it's Monday again? And not only that, but the first Monday in August! This summer is going by so fast!

I saw this quote on Pinterest the other day and thought it was the perfect way to describe the month of August:

Isn't that true?

August is like the last hoorah before school goes back and work gets busier for many of us. Kind of like a Sunday--you're so happy it's Sunday, but there's also that slightly bittersweet thought of the new week starting.

Oh August.

We're going to live you up! :)

Anyways, yesterday was the day of the much-anticipated West Elm Santa Monica Bridal Event…

We displayed a variety of invitations, toppers, and place cards...

Here's Mo, one of our beautiful associates! :)

We had so much fun!

The West Elm Santa Monica store was a wonderful backdrop for such a fun event; their products are so beautiful and it was inspiring to set up our paper goods amongst gorgeous home accents.

Thank you to those of you who came out to say hello! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did :)

Lastly, we wanted to share this fun guestbook we recently did for an engagement shower:

A simple kraft notebook received some sparkle and elegance with gold calligraphy. The couple chose a fun Dr. Seuss quote to embellish the inside, which brings a sense of whimsy to the event:

Isn't this fun? We love it when couples come to us with ideas and inspiration unique to them!

{Calligraphy Monday} Family Tree Project

One of the best parts about doing what we do is getting to know our clients on a personal level.

Oftentimes we share in aspects of their lives that are not only personal and important, but are memories in the making. It is truly a privilege.

One recent example of this privilege is when we had the opportunity to create and illustrate a family tree project for a client.

After hours of planning how the design would look in a large, illustrated format, Jillian began the process of meticulously writing each person's name, years, and important locations on the paper.

She also drew the illustrations by hand, based on inspirations from the client.

The family crests were incorporated as well.

What an honor it was to share in the history of this client's family!

The time, planning, and attention to detail paid off to create a family heirloom that will hopefully be treasured for generations to come! Thank you, Lou, for allowing us to help you create this special representation of your family's history.

{Calligraphy Monday} Time to Pop the Champagne + West Elm Bridal Event

We hope you had a fabulous weekend, enjoying the gorgeous weather. We have some fun stuff to share with you today…so let's get to it!

First up, we are so excited to be participating in The Bridal Event hosted by West Elm Santa Monica!

Join us at West Elm Santa Monica on Sunday, August 3rd from 12pm - 2pm

for hors d'oeuvres, a photo booth, registry info, bridal make up tips, and of course, some special on-site calligraphy services from yours truly! :)

And the best part is, admission is free!

What a fun way to get ideas for your registry, your home, and your upcoming wedding! Should be a ball, so we hope to see you there!

And in honor of calligraphy Monday, we wanted to share this fabulous project we did for a bride recently. This sweet bride wanted to use these rosé champagne bottles for favors at her wedding, but she also wanted them to serve double-duty as place cards. So in steps Jillian with some coordinating calligraphy :)

She used a pretty metallic rosy-pink ink for each guest's name.

All arranged on a table, the favors make quite a stunning display, don't they?

So fun! This idea could be used for a variety of occasions, and makes such a special favor!

{Calligraphy Monday} Birthday Beach Box & Cynla Notepad Giveaway Winners!

Good morning 2 Hearts readers!

We hope you had a wonderful long weekend, celebrating the 4th, eating good food, and hopefully spending lots of time with family and friends!

We thought this calligraphy project would be perfect to share today, since we're officially in summer mode now :) We created this "beach box" for a client who wanted to commemorate her husband's birthday in a special way, as the beach was a special place to them.

Jillian covered the lid with a beautiful blue card stock, and wrote the recipient's name in white calligraphy.

The box itself was filled with sand, shells, starfish, and sea glass…all little reminders of special memories on the beach.

Jillian also hand-wrote the note to accompany the box...

What a beautiful way to celebrate your love on a special birthday! We know this gift will be a treasure her husband. And this idea could easily be modified and used for an anniversary as well!
