{Calligraphy Monday} Wedding Envelopes:: Black & White Calligraphy

Happy Monday 2 Hearts readers!
Can you believe tomorrow is October 1st? This year is going by so fast...too fast if you ask us.
We hope you're savoring these gorgeous beginning-of-fall days in all their orange, red, and yellow splendor, with cool mornings and sunny afternoons. We love this time of year!

We wanted to share these beautiful black, red, and white wedding invitations we created last year for Neil & Lisa, a couple that are dear friends to us.

We love the drama of the black enclosure with the red wax seal, showcasing their monogram.

The simplicity of the twine keeps the focus on the seal.
Since the focus today is on the calligraphy, click here to see what the inside design of these invites look like...we promise, it's worth a look! :) (The link is to another couple's invites (Stephanie & Andrew), but the inside design is the same)

The black envelopes with white calligraphy are both dramatic yet classically chic.

White calligraphy on black envelopes (or place cards, or gift tags, or whatever event detail you apply it to) makes such a statement!
It's the perfect way to add sophisticated drama to whatever event you're hosting this fall.

Let us know what custom calligraphy we can help you with, or what detail this would look fabulous on!
What other black & white statements are you making with your special occasions this year?

Have a great week!

{Frosting Friday} Logo Design :: My Little Cupcake Bakery

Happy Friday!

Today we're showcasing the logo and business card we created for a dear friend of ours, Mahtab, of My Little Cupcake Bakery.

We combined sweets with pretty flourishes for a result that is just delicious!
It's been wonderful to watch Mahtab turn her dream of having a cupcake business into a reality, and an honor to help create her logo and business cards!

My Little Cupcake Bakery is located in Fresno, California, so if you're in the area, be sure to give Mahtab a call for your next special occasion!

Check out some pictures of her amazing work here.

Here's just one example of one of the incredible desserts she made for us:

Remember this cake from our display at the I Do Bridal Show in Pasadena earlier this year?

She is one talented lady!

Our personal favorite cake flavor is her coconut cake with caramel filling. Check out all the options she offers on her website; she even has vegan and sugar free options!

Let us know if we can help you design your logo and business card; a beautiful business card gives you that extra boost of confidence when you're handing it out!

{Invitations} Keep Calm Surprise Birthday

We've been meaning to share these invitations with you for awhile now, so here they are!

These fun "Keep Calm" invites are perfect for so many different occasions (as I'm sure you know!)
We created this one for a surprise 60th birthday party :)

The theme was an English pub-inspired celebration, so we incorporated the British flag along with cream, navy, and red colors. The envelopes were lined with a fun vintage stamp paper.

We're happy to announce that these will be available in our Etsy shop soon!
Stay tuned for details!

And make sure you check out our English pub-inspired inspiration board here:

{Event Details} Brianna's Teal & White Sweet 16

Hey there 2 Hearts readers!

Last week on the blog, we showcased some of our recent cowboy-and-cowgirl-themed party details, including an adorable first birthday celebration (here) and an amazingly creative and fun backyard western BBQ birthday (here). Continuing with the theme this week, we wanted to share a more sophisticated version of this popular style, perfect for a teen's birthday.

Brianna's mom Courtney came to us and wanted to mix her daughter's love for music, country, and Jesus with a soft color palette of teal and white.

We started with our inspiration board here:

We fell in love with this theme the more we played with it!

Here are the party details that resulted from our collaboration of ideas:

Table signage, inspired by favorite songs...

...and favorite scriptures.

And custom thank you tags to adorn favors for each sweet guest :)

What a lovely celebration for a lovely young woman! We're honored to have been a part of the details for this special day.

Thank you to Courtney & Brianna for the pleasure of creating for you!

Let us know how we can help you create the perfect party details for your next special occasion!

{Frosting Friday} Baseball Themed Gift Basket

In honor of baseball season, we're sharing this baseball-themed gift basket we put together for a client last year.

We wrapped a box in white paper, then added red rickrack trim to give the feel of a baseball. Gifts inside were wrapped in coordinating red, white, and blue paper and ribbon. Mixing prints along with solid papers give interest, and the white polka dot paper is reminiscent of baseballs as well. All the cellophane bundles are chocolate baseballs purchased from a local chocolatier. The final touch is the sprigs of metallic vase filler, which adds height, shine, and texture to the gift.

Do you have a baseball fan in your life? What baseball fan, male or female, wouldn't love a gift centered around their favorite sport, especially when it includes chocolate baseballs? :) Let us know if you'd like our help in creating that perfect gift for someone special in your life. Also, if you missed our golf-themed gift basket, check it out here!

Happy Friday!

{Party Inspiration} Deacon's Cowboy First Birthday

We are so excited to show you this adorable first birthday party invitation we did for a sweet little boy named Deacon.
Deacon's mom wanted to do an old West, cowboy-inspired invitation, and we had just the idea in mind.

WANTED! :)

A sweet little boy turning one!

Underneath the adorable photo (seriously could he be any cuter? :) it says:

Deacon "The Kid" Jeffrey

We used a mix of card stock and textured papers embellished with a little distressing ink to give it that rustic, old West feel.

The red handkerchief-inspired paper, tied with jute cord, is the perfect finishing touch!

We also designed a few other details for the party, including this coordinating party hat for the birthday boy...

...And this birthday banner, created using the same materials as the invitation. Each letter is distressed and matted with the red paisley paper, and strung together with jute cord.

I think we're ready to celebrate, y'all! :)

This invitation suite and coordinating details could easily be modified for a little girl's birthday, or for a different color scheme. How cute would this invite be with pink paisley paper, or even a light blue?

{Gift Idea} Fall Gift Baskets

Are you as excited as we are?
Fall is just about upon us!
(This coming Sunday is the first day of fall!)
And that means all things pumpkins, cinnamon, leaves, fireplaces...we could go on and on!
So many things to love about fall...

{Via}

You may have already started your fall decorating (like we have), but in Southern California it's still been in the 90s lately. We're hoping we'll start to feel a little crispness in the air soon, so that we'll really be able to enjoy the feelings of fall!

To get us in the mood for fall today, we're sharing these lovely fall gift baskets we did for a client.

We used the colors of the season as our inspiration: oranges, yellows and golds, browns, and a touch of red, sprinkled with some neutral creams and champagne fabric.

We used different prints and textures in the gift wrap to keep it interesting, as well as a variety of silk and organza ribbons. A few candles tucked between the boxes adds interest and warmth as well.

This second basket follows the same color scheme, but the items inside were a little larger, so we used larger, more voluminous ribbons to play off the natural shapes.

We used an orange and yellow floral patterned paper in addition to the other papers, which really gives a fun pop of color, kind of like the bright orange and yellow leaves of a tree bursting with fall! :)

These baskets make us think of all the yummy sights and smells of fall! Who wouldn't want to pour a cup of something delicious and open a beautiful fall basket like this?

A fall gift basket would be perfect for a housewarming party, or even a fall bridal shower or wedding! You can dress it up as much as you'd like to make it that much more special. One thing is for sure, a gift basket like this certainly makes a statement!

{Calligraphy Monday} Calligraphy Bridal Shower Invitation

Happy Monday!

Today we're sharing this simple and elegant bridal invitation for a bridal shower brunch.

We printed bride-to-be Pia's initial on ivory card stock, then Jillian hand-wrote each invitation in her beautiful calligraphy. The tiny gold heart in the corner matches the initial and gives it a touch of glamour.

Coordinating ivory envelopes have each guest's name written in calligraphy as well.

This simple, lovely invite idea can be used for any occasion, from a bridal shower, to a fall gathering, to a birthday dinner.

What special occasion do you have coming up that could use a custom invitation like this?

Have a wonderful Monday! :)

{Frosting Friday} Smurfed!

A few months ago, we had the honor of designing a dessert table for a client of ours.
The guest of honor?

{Via}

The owner of the Smurfs!

While we did not get to meet the guest of honor ourselves, we sure did have fun planning for and prepping this dessert table!
Unfortunately though, the one thing we forgot to bring was our regular camera to capture the fun details ...so these iPhone shots will have to do! Sorry for the bit of blurriness...

We used a variety of sweets and treats in a red and aqua color scheme, including these amazing blue macaroonscake pops, and mushroom cupcakes, created by our friends at Sweet E's!

Clear glass vases filled with blue gum balls, candy sticks, and jelly beans filled out the space and gave dimension; red ribbon embellishments and tissue pom details finished it off!

To see the ideas that inspired this dessert table, check out our Smurfed inspiration board on Pinterest!

{Party Inspiration} Leighton's Western Birthday Party

Howdy y'all! :)

I'm sure you're aware, but western-themed birthdays and baby showers are popping up everywhere right now! So we were thrilled when one of our wonderful clients asked us to create the western-inspired invitations for her daughter's third birthday party.

Our client Jacqueline was planning a backyard BBQ for her sweet daughter Leighton, complete with yummy treats, carnival games, and pony rides! The invitation sets the tone for the event, so together we came up with the concept of sending this plush toy horse in a box filled with hay, with the burlap-matted invitation tied to it's reigns.

The result was downright adorable, if we do say so ourselves! :)

The invitation reads:

"Yee-Haw!
Saddle up the family and join us
for a backyard BBQ dinner to celebrate
Leighton's 3rd Birthday!
This calls for some horsing around with
pony rides, games, carnival fun, and cake of course!"

Each horse was nestled in a bed of hay, just waiting for the recipient to take it out and play!

We wrapped the boxes with a sash of wood-grain paper, then affixed custom horseshoe labels.

The horses came in a couple different colors, and each was soft and sweet.

Who wouldn't love to get an invitation like this in the mail? It's sure to be a time of good old fashioned fun! :)

For more backyard BBQ inspiration, visit our Pinterest board:

Happy 3rd birthday Leighton!
We hope it was a delightful time!
And thank you Jacqueline for the honor of being part of Leighton's special day :)
